Gala Milonga with a Concert (Petr Zámečník & Piastra)
A concert milonga with live music. The Petr Zámečník & Piastra ensemble rehearsed this programme specifically for this evening, and this is where they play it for the first time. No recording, no playlist you can spin at home ten times the same.
Petr Zámečník wrote these arrangements with one aim: that they dance well. They are not concert versions for a seated audience, they are built for the floor, for the feet, for the embrace. And they are written to fit the sound of this particular ensemble: accordion, piano, flute, cello, double bass and percussion, exactly the combination you will hear on stage.
The programme draws on the orchestras of Francisco Canaro, Juan d'Arienzo, Osvaldo Fresedo and Carlos di Sarli, in arrangements by Petr Zámečník, premiered at this very milonga.
How the evening runs: the ensemble plays four tandas live (sixteen songs); in between, a DJ spins tandas as at any milonga. The night alternates the live concert and DJ sets, and you dance the whole time.
